[Ad] @fleshandbuns - London* If you’re looking for a weekday indulgence that won’t break the bank, Flesh and Buns’ express lunch and pre-theatre menu is a knockout. Priced at just £25 per person and available all day Monday to Friday, it’s a steal for the quality AND quantity of food on offer.

We started with the chilli BBQ edamame—a sticky, sweet, finger-licking opener that sets the tone perfectly. Second course included yaki skewers; we went for the piglet yaki and chicken teriyaki, both grilled to juicy perfection.

For our main course, we got to build our own baos - we chose the crispy piglet belly and Japanese fried chicken, each paired with its own pickles and sauces—playful, satisfying, and totally customizable. You even get unlimited baos!

We wrapped up with s’mores, because why not? This made for such a fun date night and we would definitely return.

If you’re after a lunch deal that’s big on flavour and easy on the wallet, Rosa’s Thai in Bristol city centre is a top contender. For just £14, Saiphin’s Set Lunch (available Monday to Friday, 12–5pm) lets you mix and match three mouthwatering dishes, complete with a refreshing drink — an ideal midday pick-me-up.

Here’s what we ordered:
💫 Thai calamari, red curry with chicken, and roti
💫 Sweetcorn fritter bites, pad see ew, and stir-fried broccoli

Generous portions, seriously tasty, and way more satisfying than your average Tesco meal deal. Bonus points for the cool air-con — perfect for escaping the summer heat. The service was friendly and attentive, and the prawn doughnuts we added on? Unreal.

[Ad] @veeno_uk - Bristol* A true Bristol institution that has stood the test of time, maintaining its well-earned reputation. Conveniently located near my office, I’ve visited more times than I care to admit—but this visit was extra special.

I had the pleasure of experiencing their “A Trip to Sicily” wine tasting, an adventure that exceeded expectations. I never realized they had their own vineyard, but we were treated to six bottles of authentic Sicilian wine from Caruso & Minini, each expertly paired with a beautifully curated selection of cured meats and cheeses—oh, and the perfectly toasted and fluffy bread! I soaked it in olive oil and balsamic vinegar and couldn’t help but asked for more.

Beyond the flavors, the experience was immersive, with captivating stories behind each wine, guiding us through the nuances of taste in an engaging and interactive way. It was the ultimate date night.
[Ad] @potpotmalatang.uk - Bristol* I love customisable dishes and DIY meals (like Korean BBQ!) - at this spot, not only do you get to make your own dipping sauce, you also get to create your own bowl of noodles. From broth and toppings to the type of noodles - everything is up to you! Think cart noodles if you’re from HK.

I love the concept although I do wish each topping option was a smaller portion (and cheaper) so that we could go for a wider variety. In my bowl, I went for the golden tomato broth, beef tendon balls, minced prawn with tofu skin, minced prawn stuffed aubergine (LOVED this!), white radish and instant noodles. While the broth was good, the sauces I’d create took it to the next level! I’d also highly recommend the prawn stuffed fried dough with mayonnaise starter.
