They say excitement can often feel like stress in our brains, and that’s exactly how I feel today.  After a six-month (well-deserved, well-planned, well-enjoyed) break where I allowed myself to rest and work on the odd job here and there (but mostly rest and find my creativity again), I’m back in an office today.  I thoroughly enjoyed the time off — stepping back from the career ladder felt like getting some fresh air, finding myself again, and being able to slow time.  I wouldn’t be lying if I said I’m a little nervous, but also extremely excited! It’s a big role I’m stepping into, and one my teenage self would have dreamed of.  Wish me luck! Hope everyone is having a great Monday 🤍

This year I jumped off a cliff by leaving my very safe, very reliable (very exhausting) 9-5 job. I saved up for this moment, gave myself 6 months of pure creative freedom and did everything I enjoyed. I travelled, I created videos, I read more books than I ever did before, I started new hobbies, I found my creative energy again.   Some people may find this totally nuts, but I say the best ideas come out of the wildest moments.

In your 30s, people stop asking what you want to become…and start telling you it’s too late. Don’t believe them.

I wanted to find that spark again, and I did. I took a bet on myself. The freedom was unnerving at first, but I learned how to sit with it. I started posting on here and (still wild to me) got to collaborate with some of my favourite brands (imposter syndrome very much included). That journey led me exactly where I am now, with something exciting waiting for me in January ;)

If I hadn’t jumped off the cliff, I wouldn’t have discovered what was already in me. So if you’re seeing this, trust your gut. You’re the only one who truly knows yourself, and what you’re capable of.
