And because food is definitely one of his love languages, I decided to say sorry the best way I could think of—with pie. A “pizza” pie! 😉

So after my @publix run, it was time to actually make the pie, which sounds cute until you realize I do not regularly bake pies from scratch. 🥧

I used the Publix apple pie recipe (the recipe is linked in my bio), had all of my ingredients set out, and honestly felt pretty confident until it was time to turn pie dough into a pizza slice.🍕

But eventually it started coming together, and somehow the finished pie looked way better than I expected it to. Marvin was so impressed and loved his pie. 🙌🏽

Never a dull moment when you live with a 3yo boy. 😵‍💫

Honestly though, the further removed I am from the incident, the more impressed I am that he actually made the shot. 😂

And since I know I’ll be asked about consequences, this is how I addressed it. We talked about why throwing things over the railing is dangerous and how someone could’ve gotten hurt. Watching the video back, it was obvious he immediately knew he had done something wrong.

I asked him, “Does your tummy feel funny? Is your heart beating fast? Do you feel hot and nervous?” He said yes. I told him that feeling is part of knowing inside that what we did wasn’t right. We talked through it and he confirmed he won’t be doing that again—and I’m inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.

When Marvin got home, he reinforced everything we discussed with that Daddy tone that always resonates lol. And once we get someone in here with a scaffold to get basketball out of the chandelier, the basketball itself will be spending some time in timeout… 🫠
