A bar that still feels like a house party, because that’s exactly how it started 🍸

*ad-pr | @thelittlescarletdoor in Soho is the kind of place made for birthdays, milestones or just celebrating making it through 2025, because honestly…what was that...

Sharing boards on the table, with a playful cocktail list named after famous films and iconic lines, a format you’ll find across the Little Door bars dotted around London - The Sunset Boulevard (a watermelon negroni) was a highlight. Alcohol-free options are also available for anyone doing dry Jan or skipping booze altogether.

It’s fun earlier in the evening, but I’d definitely recommend staying past 9pm for the DJ dropping saucy old skl R&B hits and pop remixes 🪩

Current deals: January birthdays get the first round on the house, plus £5 Picantes until 6pm Monday to Thursday and 5pm Fridays.

a slow sunday spent getting creative 🎨

*ad-pr | we did a festive alpine sip and paint at @pinotandpicassouk on a dreary sunday afternoon and it was the perfect way to beat the sunday scaries. textured painting, festive playlists, prosecco in hand and three hours to properly switch off~

there’s a bar on site for drinks (extra on top) and bringing your own snacks is encouraged, so we were happily munching on popcorn while our creative juices flowed.

Amelia led the session so well - bubbly, welcoming and made the whole room feel at ease. such a fun way to spend an afternoon, whether you go solo, on a date or with friends, everyone ends up chatting and laughing together 🫶🏽

The world’s 8th most beautiful bookstore café 📚

@maisonassouline was named the 8th most beautiful book café in the world (@1000libraries) and it makes complete sense once you step inside. A Grade II listed former bank turned cultural haven, filled with curated Assouline titles, rare editions, antiques and Swans Bar serving coffees, cocktails and light bites. I went for wine and cake, obviously.

’Tis the season to treat yourself and romanticise your (reading) life. I read 50 books last year, but between my masters, work and taking six months to get through Onyx Storm (not quite a hater, but definitely not a fan), my pace slowed… and I’ve had zero 5-star ⭐️ reads this year.

So, fellow bookish girlies and guys: what’s on your current TBR? romantasy, fantasy, thrillers, period pieces… send it all my way. I’m an Austen girly at heart (Emma and S&S forever), but very much in my romantasy era. If you know and love Daughter of No Worlds, we’re already friends x x

A feast fit for Panem, served in Canary Wharf 🦅

*ad-pr | ROE’s Hunger Games set menu brings a playful concept to a restaurant already known for thoughtful sourcing and big flavours.

The Cornucopia trio selection featured:

- a rich mushroom parfait with caramelised onion
- crispy mockingjay wings with Szechuan salt & tarragon, and
- a smoky & honey-sweet lamb skewer that won me over (as I don’t ~usually particularly enjoy lamb)

These top-tier starters were followed by a true “tenderism” moment with the braised short rib, which was deeply seasoned and served with mashed potato, smoked onion and hispi cabbage.

Dessert brought together my childhood favourite (rice pudding) with malted caramel, puffed rice and Earl Grey ice cream - an unexpected texture combination, but right up my umami-loving street.

Sipping on our citrus marmalade martinis (also included) whilst enjoying this spread for £60pp is, in our opinion, a steal for this calibre of food.

As someone who has yet to visit Fallow (I know, I know - long list), ROE has already set a high standard and I’m excited to go back ⭐️
