Nestled below the Millennium Gallery and the Winter Gardens, Ambulo feels like a quiet sanctuary right in the heart of the city. It’s bright, airy and modern, and strikes that rare balance of being aesthetically pleasing while remaining completely comfortable.

I spent a couple of hours with one of my closest friends and beautiful pastry eating model 😂💕 @sarahlfo09 on sunday morning working our way through a Full English and a textbook Eggs Benedict, chatting over steaming coffee.

There’s no unnecessary fuss here; just excellent ingredients and a kitchen that clearly respects the basics. We paired the mains with a round of expertly poured coffees and some of their pastries—which were exactly as light and flaky as you’d hope for.

The staff are the real highlight, though—genuinely lovely ladies who make you feel like you’ve got all the time in the world to linger. With the pastel palette and the floral displays, it’s a beautiful spot to lose track of time. We went for a catch-up and ended up staying much longer than planned because it's such a nice space to be in.

Ambulo also have premises at Weston park museum.

Whenever we visit Cutlery Works, we usually find ourselves at Greek Gods Cuisine. They have been a firm favorite of ours for years, consistently delivering fresh and authentic food that has held its own in the busy Kelham & Neepsend scene for quite a few years now. The owner is also lovely and always makes you feel welcome.

While we typically stick to their wraps, this time we tried the Olympus Platter. It was a great choice for sharing. The variety of meat had so much flavor from the grill, and you can tell they prioritize quality ingredients. The flatbread is always a highlight for us. It is soft, warm, and the perfect companion for their fresh tzatziki and creamy hummus.

If you aren't near Kelham, you can also find their fantastic food at Cambridge Street Collective in the city centre. This visit was part of a @sheffield_foodie_socials event, and we want to say a huge thank you to @jensfoodblog for organizing such a brilliant get-together. Whether you are a regular or a first-timer, you really cannot go wrong here, it is reliable and delicious - just what you need in a food hall!

If you’re looking for the ultimate weekend itinerary that combines delicous food, a bit of "plant therapy," and a gourmet shopping spree all in once location, Dunston Hall needs to be at the top of your list and ticks every box. We spent the day exploring the Bistro, Garden Centre, and Food Hall shop, and it makes the most wonderful day out!

🍴 The Bistro- @dunstonhallbistro

This may be a cosy cafe bistro, but the kitchen here is playing at a serious level, using quality local ingredients. We visited for Sunday Dinner, and it was easily one of the best roasts we’ve had in a good while!

The Roasts: We tried both the Beef & Pork. The portions were generous and made with care. The pork crackling was absolute perfection, and the beef tender.

The Showstopper: Whatever you do, order the cauliflower cheese. It’s easily the cheesiest version we’ve ever encountered- just look at that cheese pull!

Not a Sunday? They have a brilliant range of brunch dishes, cosy classics like pies, burgers & fish and chips, beautiful meat and fish bistro dishes, and lighter options salads and sandwiches.

Sweet Tooth? Be sure to save room for the cake counter. It is bursting with homemade treats that are impossible to walk past.

🌿 The Garden Centre- @dunstonhallgardencentre

After lunch, we spent some time "pottering" through the Garden Centre. It’s impressively large and half-undercover. Whether you’re looking for vibrant bedding plants, high-quality garden furniture, or a unique gift, the variety here is stellar.

We finished our visit in the Food Hall, and let’s just say it’s impossible to leave empty-handed. It’s a sleek, modern farm shop stocked to the rafters with quality local food & drink delicacies you just cant find in other shops.

The cold counter is the star of the show—packed with artisan cheeses, meats, and baked goods. We walked out with two full bags of treats.

Dunston Hall isn't just a garden centre; it’s a destination. Genuine care and quality are evident in every corner, the staff are wonderful and it's one of our favourite local days out.
