Long overdue visit to Ash in Sutton Coldfield… and what better excuse than Jamie’s birthday 🎉

Started strong:
🔥 Lamb tacos for me
🦪 Mussels for our 10-year-old (he smashed the whole bowl!)
🐟 Salmon tartare for the birthday girl… well, mostly for her — Viren definitely helped himself 😂

Mains were spot on: perfectly cooked lamb rump with fondant potato for both of us, while our little foodie tucked into a seriously good seasonal risotto.

Wrapped it all up with tiramisu and cookies & cream — no crumbs left behind.

Ash… you were worth the wait 👌

🥢 Hotpot Happiness at Happy Lamb – Chinatown, Birmingham! 🐑🔥

Last night’s dinner was an experience — the kind you remember for all the right reasons! We tried Happy Lamb Hotpot, and it was such a fun evening for the whole family.

Viren couldn’t believe the hotpot was built right into our table 😲 — watching (and helping!) cook our food in that incredibly flavourful broth made it even more exciting.

We chose all our favourites from the menu, dipped, cooked, and devoured every bite! 😋

We also made the most of their late-night all-you-can-eat menu, starting from just £19.99 per person — amazing value for a feast like this.

If you’re in Chinatown, Birmingham, and want dinner that’s interactive, tasty, and great for families — this one’s a must-try! 🙌

🐟 Darcy’s Fish & Chips – Derby 🍟

What an absolute treat! We dined in at Darcy’s and were blown away by the quality — perfectly cooked, golden goodness from start to finish.

The fish was massive, wrapped in the crispiest, lightest batter, while the chips were beautifully soft – those melt-in-the-mouth kind of potatoes you just can’t get enough of. 😋

If you’re in Derby and craving proper fish and chips done right, Darcy’s is the place to be! 🙌

Our Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas feast was a beautiful blend of our Punjabi and Gujarati heritage! The spread included red lentils (dal), a hearty potato curry, cabbage with peas and potato sabzi, and of course, homemade samosas (courtesy of our family!)

We rounded it all out with puri, bhajiya (onion bhajis), and poppadoms with help from our little inspector! It was a delicious, albeit massive, meal—we probably ate enough to last the whole week! Totally worth the carb and fried-food overload. Happy Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas to everyone celebrating today or tomorrow.
