🚗 From health set backs to hospital admissions and even an instructor who knocked my confidence and told me disabled people shouldn’t drive and that I’ll not pass next month to proving her wrong and getting my FULL licence. 🚗 I’ve been waiting for this day for over a year after so many setbacks and bumps in the road and now it’s finally here…. I can’t stop pinching myself. My life is about to change so much for the better (and I didn’t even have to bribe anyone 😅💅) Watch out world she’s on the roads…..🏎️ #car #learnerdriver #manualcar #chronicillnessawareness #disability #spoonie #drivingtest #drivingtestpassed #wheelchairgirl #thisgirlcan
9 years.
That’s how long I was housebound — not because I didn’t want to go outside, but because I couldn’t afford the wheelchairs I needed to navigate the world beyond my front door. The countryside, the snow, the forests, the beaches — all of it felt out of reach, not because of my disability, but because access and support to get theses types of equipment simply isn’t there.

This isn’t just about a chair; it’s about freedom. My @trekinetic gave me my freedom back- The freedom to feel the wind on your face, to explore nature, to do something as simple (and as joyful) as spinning doughnuts in the snow.

Access to the outdoors shouldn’t be a luxury — it’s a right. But for so many disabled people, the cost of mobility equipment creates an invisible barrier, keeping us locked out of spaces others take for granted.

Today, I celebrate this moment — but I also want to highlight the need for better funding, better support, and real change so that no one has to wait nearly a decade just to experience the world outside their doorstep. With the government currently drawing up plans to cut PIP funding- this means equipment like this will only become even further out of people’s reach. I honestly dream of a day where everyone with a disability or mobility issue has access to these types of equipment, where the outside and all its different terrains become accessible to all.

Here’s to making the outdoors accessible for everyone.

In case you didn’t know.. The disabled ‘pros’ really aren’t that great.♿️ Like many chronically ill and disabled people, I was kicked out of school at 14 for being a ‘health and safety hazard’, spent years bedbound and experience hurtful/hateful comments- told I’m a ‘faker’ just for parking in disabled bays/skipping queues from people who don’t understand disability doesn’t have a look and that invisible illnesses exist. 🦽 Although I poke fun at my disability to raise awareness- I’d give it all up in a heart beat to have my health back. 🦽🦽🦽🦽🦽 #wheelchairmodel #school #invisibleillnessawareness #awareness #faker #disabilityinclusion #disabilitylife #wheelchairlife #disabled #parking #wheelieable #spoonie #dystonia #disabilityrights #chronicillness #chronicfatigue #chronicpain #health #tilite
I use to be embarrassed to be seen in my wheelchair—Today on international wheelchair day, I’ve never been more grateful for the life my wheelchair are giving me. To anyone out there embarrassing by using their wheelchair or mobility aid like I was… USE IT and watch your whole world change for the better. Mobility aids like wheelchairs are something to be celebrated, not embarrassed by. They unlock doors allow you to just be yourself again despite your disability or chronic illness. My life unlocked when I got my trekinetic and Permobil. If you ever needed a sign to use your mobility aid— THIS IS IT! ♿️♿️♿️♿️♿️ HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WHEELCHAIR DAY! ♿️♿️♿️#internationalwheelchairday #wheelchairmodel #wheelchairusers #chronicillness #disability #trekinetic #permobil #wheelchairgirl♿️ #dystonia #crps #dysautonomia #mobilityaids #babewithamobiltyaid #wheelieable
